Rik Hagen started medical life as a country GP in Harvey WA, 140 km’s south of Perth where he practised for 12 years.

For the last 20 years he has worked in the Emergency Department of St John of God Hospital at Murdoch WA (11 km’s south of Perth). During that time he has also worked a total of 8 years half time at the Royal Flying Doctor Service based in Jandakot, Perth WA.

His main hobby over the years has been motor sport medicine working at a State, National and International level. He has held senior medical positions in Australian Rally Championship events, the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport, the World Rally Championship and Formula 1.

He currently is the FIA World Rally Championship Deputy Medical Delegate for Asia and Oceania.

Dr Bernard (Barney) Cresswell is a Specialist Anaesthetist with extensive experience in Paediatric Anaesthesia-30 years as a Visiting Consultant to Princess Margaret Hospital for Children.

He spent 4 years fulltime in the RAAF and a further 22 years in the RAAF Reserve.

He had a major involvement with the Royal Flying Doctor Service both in aeromedical retrievals and in management, being National President of RFDS in 1990-91.

As well Barney has been the anaesthetist in volunteer teams working overseas in hospitals in India, Indonesia and Tanzania over a period of 30 years.
